FauxHome is the creation of owner Kathleen Yusiewicz, who has worked as a professional decorative artist since1984. Kathy has been trained in the fine arts of faux finish painting, calligraphy, color analysis and home staging.
Kathy worked as an artist in New York and New Jersey for 15 years, and in North Carolina since 1999. Faux Home has expanded over the years from Kathy's passion for faux finishes to include her passion for color and design. Kathy has a BA in Mathematics as well, which she believes is the reason for her meticulous attention to detail in both simple and elaborate decorative finishes.
Faux Home was featured in the January/February 2008 edition of The Chapel Hill Magazine. The article focused on transforming an older home's dark oak kitchen cabinets. The cabinets were painted a creamy white with a touch of glaze, while the island was painted a rich ebony and distressed. In addition, the clients used Faux Home to stage their home using existing furniture and accessories.
Faux Home is continually expanding our range of services as well as our locations to better serve our clients. Kathy has added two awesome women artists/designers to her team. Mary Lisowsky and Becky Lynch have been working with FauxHome for over three years, allowing the company to take on larger projects and serve more clients.
Kathy, Mary and Becky donate their time and services to support many causes in their communities. Among them are the Chapel Hill Service League, the Chapel Hill/Carrboro city schools, Eastern Alamance schools, JP's Caps for Courage, and youth programs at the University United Methodist Church in Chapel Hill and St. Mark's Church in Mebane, NC. If you have a fundraising event and would like to request a gift certificate for a service, please contact Kathy at 919-225-2417.
